Our Story
The Hudson Valley's Independent TAB Firm
dL Flow Tech was founded by Dennis LaVopa in 1982 with a single premise: independent testing produces credible results. When the firm that balances the system is not affiliated with the firm that installed it, the report means something. That hasn't changed in over four decades.
Dennis has spent his career across the full spectrum of commercial and institutional mechanical systems — from hospital-grade negative-pressure isolation rooms and pharmaceutical-grade cleanrooms to large office complexes, schools, and residential blower door audits. He holds NEBB certification and personally oversees every project dL Flow Tech undertakes.
In 2020, Dennis took full ownership of the business — the second generation of the same independent operation that clients in the Hudson Valley and New York metro have relied on since 1982. The firm has never been affiliated with a mechanical contractor, never sold equipment, and never had a financial relationship with any system installer. When we sign a TAB report, the numbers are ours alone.
Our Principle
Why Independence Matters
On regulated projects — hospitals, labs, cleanrooms, LEED certification — independent TAB is a contractual requirement. The commissioning authority and the engineer of record both need a report they didn't produce. But even on everyday commercial projects, independence is the difference between a report the engineer stamps on first review and one that comes back for rework.

We are not affiliated with any mechanical contractor, equipment manufacturer, or installation firm. Our only interest is accurate data.
Certified Reports
Every report follows NEBB procedural standards and is signed and certified — the documentation healthcare, lab, and LEED projects require.
Calibrated Instruments
All test instruments are maintained on a documented calibration schedule. Readings are traceable — not estimates.
